Ministry of Culture publishes «Cultural Heritage Green Book» highlighting the “Millenary Olive Trees of the Sénia Territory”

            The Minister of Culture and Sports, Miquel Iceta, has presented the “Green Book for de sustainable management of cultural heritage”, which contains examples of good practices in which environmental, economic and social sustainability criteria are applied, and among them are the Millennial olive tres of the Sénia Territory, a Project managed by the Taula del Sénia Association (27 municipalities: 15 Valencian, 9 Catalan and 3 Aragonese) and the Sénia Territory Association (formed 50% by the Association itself and the other 50% by economic sectors and social of the área).

            This project has obtained numerous awards and recognitions, at national and European level and in all aspects: cultural, environmental, heritage, landscape… and, now at a global level, on May 22 of this year, the Director General of FAO QU Dongyu, presented the recognition of the Millenary Olive Trees of the Sénia Territory as an Important World Agricultural Heritage System to the representatives of the Mancomunidad and the Association, in Rome.

            The book, published in Spanish and in the co-official languages (Catalan, Galician and Basque) as well as in French and English, is a guide in wich associations, cultural managemet professionals, administrations and all citizens in general can find different tolos and challenges faced by cultural heritage management that wants to follow criteria of environmental, economic and social sustainability.
