Participating in the first GIAHS workshop in Azerbaijan (9/2021)

In the frame of the European Union-funded project on the development of sustainable and inclusive local agri-food systems in north-west region of Azerbaijan, the first workshop on GIAHS territories has been held in Baku (Azerbaijan).

The Commonwealth Taula del Sénia was invited by the FAO to participate in the event and introduced the Millenary Olive Trees of the Sénia Territory GIAHS. The presentation was made on Thursday 30th by Mª Teresa Adell and Jaume Antich.

The first international GIAHS workshop in Azerbaijan is thus an opportunity for local stakeholders and relevant authorities from the government to learn about the concept of GIAHS. Moreover, at this workshop, all partners and expert members of the national GIAHS working group can get familiar with the identification and designation procedures, as well as the implementation of GIAHS action plans.
